The Dominican Republic took the first set thanks to the efforts of OP Gaira, but Turkey continued to score points, mainly through OP Vargas, and won the match. Turkey won two matches in a row and advanced to the quarterfinals.
Italy - Netherlands

Although the first set was a deuce, the match proceeded at Italy's pace from the second set onwards, and Italy defeated the Netherlands in straight sets. OP Antropova was a big star, scoring 33 points by herself. Italy also won two straight matches and advanced to the quarterfinals.
