The birthplace of volleyball is America.

For the first week of the Nations League, players who played well at the Tokyo Olympics, such as OP Anderson, S Christenson, and L Shoji, have not been called up, but the team is taking on the challenge with a team that includes returning members such as OH Russell and OH Jaskier, who were unable to compete in the Tokyo Olympics due to injury, as well as some younger players.

OHJaskierHe played alongside Ishikawa Yuki at Milan last club season, so will be a familiar player to Ishikawa fans.

Point getter is OHRusselland OPEnsingHowever, the opening two games have not been heavily weighted towards these two, with all five players, including Quick, scoring in a balanced manner.

Therefore, the key to victory for Japan will be how they can attack with their serves and reduce their opponents' attacking options.

OH Aaron Russell

A member of the bronze medal team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Last year, he was injured and missed the Tokyo Olympics, but he returned to the team in Piacenza, Italy, and played a key role in leading the team to a 5th place finish. His transfer to JT Thunders Hiroshima next season is (almost) confirmed.

Taylor Sander, who was a main player for the US national team until last year, has switched to beach volleyball this season, so he is expected to replace him as the US national team's top outside hitter.

Russell is a well-balanced offensive and defensive player, and his height of attack is particularly impressive.

He has a kind personality and is handsome, but personally I think he looks better without a beard (lol).

MB David Smith

Born in 1985, this veteran middle-back is turning 37 this year and is serving as captain of the US national team at this tournament.

Due to his age and hearing impairment, he plays while wearing a hearing aid, but his outstanding athletic ability makes him unaffected as he supports the team.

At his club, Saksa (Poland), he made his presence felt with his high success rate in quick kicks and effective blocks, and contributed greatly to the team's two consecutive European Champions League victories. His quick kicks in particular are really sharp!

There is no doubt that his quick moves and blocks will be a big hindrance in the match against Japan.
