Seki Nanami comes on as a substitute for two as Conegliano wins 3-1 against Roma

On Sunday, January 5th local time, in the third round of the second half of the Italian Serie A1, Conegliano, the club Seki Nanami plays for, will face Roma.

In the first set, the match was close at first, but Roma took the lead 8-11 with attacks and blocks from OP Orvošová. Conegliano also scored with attacks from OP Adigwe, but Roma's solid defense led to another consecutive break with an attack from OP Orvošová, extending their lead to 12-18. In the final stages, Roma continued to score with blocks and attacks from OH Melli, making it 15-23, and finally, with an attack from MB Schaltzer, Roma took the set 19-25.

In the second set, Conegliano started off with a strong serve, scoring consecutive points with attacks from OH Rania, leading to 6-2, and then MB Chiricella's attacks to make it 10-3, taking a big lead. After that, Conegliano scored five consecutive breaks from OP Adigwe's serve, including his own aces and OH Rania's spikes, widening the gap to 21-9. MB Chiricella continued to score attacks in the end, and Conegliano took the set with ease, winning 25-12.

In the third set, Conegliano took the lead 5-2 with attacks from MB Chiricella and OH Gabi, but Roma made more mistakes and extended their lead to 9-4. From there, Roma closed the gap to 15-14 with attacks from OP Orvošova, but Conegliano again widened the gap to 19-16 with attacks from OP Adigwe. In the final stages, MB Lutulli's block narrowed the gap to 20-19, but OH Gabi made a sharp attack to win the set 25-22.

In the fourth set, MB Chiricella and S Vołosz's service aces gave Conegliano an 8-6 lead. From there, Roma caught up at 11-11 with attacks from OH Melli, but Conegliano pulled away at 16-13 with attacks from OH Gabi. After that, Roma caught up again at 17-17 with attacks from OP Orvošova, but MB Chiricella's blocks prevented Conegliano from making a comeback at 21-18. Conegliano reached match point at 24-22, but Roma showed tenacity and brought the score to deuce at 24-24 with consecutive attacks from substitute OH Adelsi. However, Roma's attack errors made the score 26-24, and Conegliano won the match 3-1.

S. Seki started on the bench, but was substituted in two games in the middle to late stages of each set. In the third set, there were difficult times when the team's attacks were not successful, but overall he showed a dignified play, including attacks from the center.

On this day, Conegliano started with OP Adigwe and L. Vardaro, who had not had many opportunities to play until now. In the first set, OP Adigwe in particular made noticeable attack mistakes and had a hard time getting into the rhythm, but from the second set onwards, that improved as well.

The MVP was OH Lanier. He scored 17 points, the most on the team, with his powerful spikes, and his serve reception, which is usually his weak point, was very stable on this day. MB Chiricella, who scored 15 points despite being a middle blocker, also performed at an MVP level.

However, even though Conegliano was a 1.5-string team, Roma was also amazing in tormenting the undefeated queen. It's surprising that they are now in 13th place, the second from the bottom. It shows the high level of the Italian league. OP Orvošová scored the most points of both teams with 20 points. The defense, including the blocks, was good on this day, but it was a shame that there were so many attacking mistakes.
