On Sunday, October 13th local time, in the second match of the first half of the Italian Serie A1, Conegliano, the club Seki Nanami plays for, played against Talmassons and won 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-18).
In the first set, Talmassons led until the middle of the match thanks to OP Klaiduba's (Ukraine) spikes and other points, but Conegliano managed to turn the game around and take the set thanks to OP Haak's (Sweden) spikes and blocks towards the end. In the second and third sets, Conegliano kept the lead despite being narrowed by points, scoring mainly from the wings, including OP Haak and OH Łukaszyk (Poland), and won consecutive sets. He defeated Talmassons in straight sets.

In this match, S. Seki started in place of the regular setter Wołosz (Poland). To be honest, the toss did not reach the side or was not high enough, and there were many scenes where the attackers could not hit and had to feint, so I think the match was helped by the high ability of each attacker. If the toss had been a little better, the game would have been easier from the first set. There were also fewer attacks from the middle.
Still, I was able to gradually make some adjustments, and I think it was good that I was able to stay on the court until the end without losing a set and without being substituted except for two substitutions. Also, in the third set, I had two consecutive aces on my own serve.
I think this was a bittersweet victory for Seki himself, but I believe he will have another opportunity to be in the starting lineup, so I hope he will continue to grow from here.

The losing team, Tarmassons, was promoted to A1 this season. Although they lost in straight sets, I think they gained confidence from putting up a decent fight against the absolute queen, Conegliano.
