Germany, led by OP Grosser, overwhelmed Argentina with serves and blocks, winning in straight sets and advancing to the quarterfinals. Argentina, the bronze medalist in the previous tournament, ended up losing in the Paris tournament qualifiers without a single win.
Japan - America

In the first and second sets, the United States won consecutive sets with consecutive points from serve and block, never giving up the initiative. In the third set, Japan also took back the lead with the efforts of OH Otsuka, MB Takahashi Kentaro, and OP Nishida's spikes, but in the end, the United States regained momentum and won the fourth set. MB Avril played an active role, scoring 14 points including 6 blocks. However, Japan won the set and advanced to the quarterfinals.
