France's Brizard: "I don't want to play against Yuki (laughs)" - Interview after the semi-final match against Poland in the Men's Volleyball Nations League 2024

June 30, 2024

Toshiki: how do you feel.

Brizard: I feel good. I'm a little tired, but my ears are damaged again, but I feel good (laughs).

Toshiki: The Polish fans booed (laughs).

Brizard: Yes (laughs).

Toshiki: What do you think was the reason for your victory?

Brizard: First of all, we didn't allow their serve to work. They served really well (in the two sets we lost), but we have the best receivers in the world and we were able to manage it.

We also had good high balls and counter attacks, and our side-outs also maintained a better rhythm than our opponents.

Then the Polish break weakened and we were able to turn it around.

Toshiki: And then at the end there was your service ace.

Brizard: Yes, I love these moments (laughs).

Toshiki: I know (laughs). Tomorrow is the final, and of course you want to play against Japan and Yuki, right? (laughs) (At the time of the interview, the opponent has not yet been decided.)

Brizard: I don't want to fight Yuki (laughs). He's a really good player. He's close to being the best player in the world right now.

I have a lot of respect for what he brings to the team, he's a crazy player and a great person.

So I'm always looking forward to playing against his team, but it's very tough because he usually scores around 30 points (laughs).

Toshiki: Let's see how it goes.

Brizard: Yes.
