Toshiki: How do you feel looking back on today's game?
Sekita: First of all, I'm glad that we were able to win 3-0. We were behind at times in the second and third sets, but we persevered, or rather, we held on and endured, and we were able to score points when we had break chances, so I think that will help us in the future.
Toshiki: What was your goal as the setter going into the match today?
Sekita: I'm definitely thinking about how to improve our side outs, and that's my role.
Last time (when we played them in the qualifying round), their defense was very good and we were defeated in transition, so we were hoping to put an end to that and worked hard on side outs.
I think one big thing was that we were able to prevent the opponents' strengths, such as when Onodera stopped their pipe attack or got a touch on a quick kick.
Toshiki: I thought that in today's match, the ball was generally given to Ishikawa. Was there a view to concentrating the ball on players who were in good form, like in the qualifying match against France?
Sekita: He was an ace and there were many scenes where he had a lot of blocks, but he also had the desire to get the team in rhythm. That's one of his roles, so I entrusted it to him.
TOSHIKI: The semi-finals are next, the next day. How do you want to prepare for them?
Sekita: First of all, I need to recover properly, and then I'll have a day off tomorrow, so I'll fix anything I can then. I'll look back on it and get back to doing what I always do.
