Toshiki: Congratulations on your victory.
Kurek: (in Japanese) Thank you!
Toshiki: How do you feel looking back on today's game?
Krek: It was a very tough battle against a great opponent. Brazil never gave us a "gift". It's not easy to beat them.
It was a bit of a surprise because they started off well, but after a while we got back into our rhythm, started playing better and were lucky to win.
Toshiki: I'm sure the support from Polish fans was also a big factor.
Kurek: They are great wherever we go. Even in places like the Philippines you can find small groups of Polish fans.
I'm grateful to them. I'm in my 18th year with the national team and I'm always left speechless after something like this.
Toshiki: But the Japanese fans at the Fukuoka round were amazing too.
Kurek: Oh! To be honest, I didn't expect it to turn out like that. I thought there would be very few spectators at our games (other than the Japan match).
But when I got there, I found that there were a lot of fans, fans who were supporting not only me but also my teammates.
Volleyball is really growing fast in Japan and getting bigger and bigger, which is great.
As you know, I spent a large part of my professional career in Japan and I wish the Japanese National Team and the new SV League every success.
Toshiki: Can you give a message to your Japanese fans?
Kurek: Oh! Japanese fans!
It has been such an amazing pleasure to play in front of you all over Fukuoka over the past four years, and the support for each team has been amazing.
Please check out the new SV League, it will be a great show. Some of my friends are going there, so there will be no Polish players there. Please support them too.
I hope to see you again soon.
