Toshiki: How do you feel looking back on today's game?
Ishikawa: I'm glad we won 3-0, and Canada is a very strong team, so we couldn't let our guard down even once. If we show any weakness, like in the first set, or even if we're leading, they can easily catch up, so I think it was a good experience for us.
Also, although we only won the first set by one or two points, we needed to be more concentrated, or rather, focus more on ourselves, so I think that was a good lesson to reflect on.
In the Philippines (where they lost to Canada in full sets), our reception wasn't very good, and we got shut down and blocked a lot on our attacks, so I think we were able to fix that.
I also think one of the reasons for our victory today was that we were able to respond effectively to Canada's attacks with block defense.
Toshiki: How do you feel looking back at your individual performances?
Ishikawa: Yes. Well, I don't think it was bad, but I was blocked by my spikes and made some mistakes in receptions, so I need to fix those a bit more.
In terms of attack and serving, we have entered this Nations League in very good form, so we need to continue that.
I think my blocking was good today too. Blocking is one of the things I'm currently working on, so I think the results are starting to show.
TOSHIKI: You've returned to Poland for the first time in about a year since last year's Nations League Final. What are your impressions of Poland?
Ishikawa: I think it's a very comfortable country, and it's a country that's very passionate about volleyball, so we're very happy to be able to play here.
