April 20, 2024

In the first match of the Italian Men's Volleyball League playoff final, Monza, the team Takahashi Ai plays for, faced Perugia on Thursday, April 18th local time and lost 1-3 (25-27, 18-25, 25-23, 23-25).

After the match, we spoke with Takahashi's teammate, middle blocker Gianluca Galassi (Italy).

Interview with Galassi

Toshiki: How was today's game?

Galassi: Of course it was a hard match. Perugia is a strong team. There were some sets and plays we could have done better, but in the end I think we played a good match. Of course we need to re-watch this match, see what went wrong and fix it so we can win on Sunday.

Toshiki: What do you think needs to be fixed at this point?

Galassi: Of course we need to improve the easy things we can do, and also focus on our own game and play like we did against Trentino, because that was fantastic. That's it.

Toshiki: What kind of player do you think your teammate Ai Takahashi is?

Galassi: He's a very technical player. He's not often seen in Italy or Europe. So it's fun to play with him. And I want to reach the top of the league with him and everyone at VeloValley Monza.
