In the first match of the third-place playoff match of the Italian Men's Volleyball League, Yuki Ishikawa's Milan team faced Trentino on Wednesday, April 17th (local time) and lost 1-3 (25-23, 18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 11-15).
Comment from Yuki Ishikawa
Toshiki: Thank you for your hard work. Unfortunately, you lost, but how do you feel looking back on today's match?
Ishikawa: I didn't start off very well, but I was able to recover by getting breaks in the first and third sets, so that was good, but I think I need to start off a little better.
Toshiki: What did you think of your own playing?
Ishikawa: Our spikes were being shut down and we made a lot of mistakes, so I think we need to fix that.
TOSHIKI: Trentino is the only team that Milan has not beaten this season. What is the difficulty of playing against Trentino?
Ishikawa: His blocking is very good, and he was able to stop evenly-average blocks against the opposite field today, so I think that's what makes it difficult to fight him.
TOSHIKI: What do you think about Monza, the team that Takahashi Ai is a member of, advancing to the finals?
Ishikawa: I think it was a great match, and Monza beat Trento (Trentino) in the Coppa Italia without Takahashi. So they're a very strong team, so it's not surprising that they made it to the finals, and I think they played really good volleyball.
Toshiki: I think you had tape on your finger during the match. Is that okay?
Ishikawa: It was just a normal scrape.
Toshiki: Finally, please say a few words about the third place match and future matches.
Ishikawa: I'll quickly switch gears and make sure I'm in top condition for the next match.
Toshiki: Thank you very much.
