In the fifth match of the quarterfinals of the Italian Men's Volleyball League playoffs, Yuki Ishikawa's Milan team faced Piacenza on Wednesday, March 27th (local time) and won 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-22).
Interview with Damiano Catania (Libero, Italy)
Toshiki: Congratulations on your victory. How was the match?
Catania: It was very, very hard because I knew that even though we were leading 2-0, the third set would not be easy. But we were lucky enough to win with two pipe attacks from Ishikawa, our best player from Japan. I have a very good feeling because the team is moving very well. I am happy because we are all working together towards the same goal.
Toshiki: Personally, I think your one-handed receive in the third set changed the course of the match for the rest of the game.
Catania: I used everything, including my hand and my face, to get the ball up, but in the end we got a point and it made us and the fans really excited. It was a great feeling at that moment.
Toshiki: In the semi-finals we will face Perugia.
Catania: Yes, a rematch against Perugia. Of course we want revenge after losing 2-3 to them in the Coppa Italia and we want to take advantage of all the chances they give us.
Toshiki: How is your collaboration with Ishikawa?
Catania: As you can see, I feel great on the court, but all my teammates are very close, and I'm very happy to see the team moving so well.
