Coach Kent post-match interview

Toshiki: How was today's match?

Dario: It was a difficult match, like all our matches. We need to take it one match at a time and be motivated to score in each one. We have the (CEV Cup) final on Wednesday, so we need to prepare in the best possible way. That's why today's match was important.

With the next game in mind, we changed the starting lineup and even played players who don't usually play. We had to do a lot of things that we don't usually do, and we didn't have enough practice time, so it was tough. But the players did a great job and showed a lot of good plays on the court, so I'm very happy.

Toshiki: How much did Coach Kent contribute to today's game?

Dario: Kent helps us a lot. Kent checks things that we can't see from the bench from the other end of the court. So he's very important. In particular, we changed the blocking against the opponent's opposite today. This important change was made because Kent told us to "block more straight shots and pick up the crosses with a receive." When we actually did that, the effectiveness of the opponent's attacks went down, so it was a really important instruction.

Toshiki: The CEV Cup final is finally on Wednesday. How are you preparing?

Dario: First we'll have a break, a very short break, and then we'll have weight training tomorrow morning, and then some of the players will be on the court with ball practice. We don't have a lot of time, but again, the main thing is to give it everything on the court. I think the players are ready. We're already very excited. We need to tighten up our side-outs a little bit and think about blocking, especially blocking against high balls, because they'll be in a lot of high ball situations. We're ready. We're ready.

TOSHIKI: The CEV Cup final will also be streamed on YouTube. Please give a message to Japanese volleyball fans.

Dario: I met a lot of Japanese people this season, including Kent. It's amazing. Please follow us and watch the final. We need support from all over the world. I hope many people will watch the game. Thank you. See you soon (laughs)
