Comments from Coach Kento Hayashi
As the men's team and other teams would be competing against the traditional volleyball club Trentino, I was extremely excited as a volleyball fan and came to this event.
The lineup includes Ansouri, also with the intention of avoiding the participation of opposite Groberna.
The effectiveness of attacks was not improving, and until halfway through, high-set attacks were more effective. I had the setter focus on giving the attacker options in terms of height and attacking, rather than speed, and I think that little by little the game improved.
Ansouri, who started the game, was not able to function well, so Kingdon, the outside hitter who played opposite until last year, played in the opposite position and made a great contribution on defense.
The net result was that with the opposite gone, we were able to use the pipes more frequently and reaffirm that we could score there.
The second round of the CEV Cup semi-finals is scheduled for Wednesday.
It's a hard schedule, as I'll be returning home today (it's 7:30pm now) and leaving tomorrow, but I'll fight with all my might to aim for the title!
