Coach Kent's comments and commentary

It was an exciting day with a nearly full house of fans coming to our home stadium, Pala Fenera.

This was a match I was thoroughly prepared for, as I had narrowly beaten them in a tiebreak last time.

In the first set, it was difficult to keep the opponent's attacks from the 5th slot under control, and Skinner didn't score until the score was 18-17. Also, the set against Groberna went so long that it went beyond the antenna, making it difficult to score the crucial attack points. In the end, Skinner won the set, but the situation was looking uncertain.

In the second set, the opponent was in the lead until the end. The substitute setter Morello put the MB in slot 1, and scored outside points with an attack in slot 5 in the opening area. He also served effectively, and succeeded in turning the game around to take the set 29-27.

In the third set, thanks to the performance of Morello, who was selected to start the game, the effectiveness of the reception attack was a high 50%, and Omoruyi on the outside and Weitzel in the middle in particular led the team with their high effectiveness.

Weitzel also led the team as a scorer with five points on serve, and by using a backslide attack that he doesn't usually use, he was able to show some variety, which I think will be useful in the next game.

If we can defend more systematically against the opponent's attacks during rallies, we will definitely be able to control the game to our advantage, so we will continue to prepare for the next match by having more confidence in our floor defense and being able to suppress blocks.

Next up: Coppa Italia semi-final vs. Conegliano

I want to fight with all my might!
