In the Coppa Italia final of the Italian men's volleyball league, Monza, the team Takahashi Ai plays for, faced Perugia on Sunday, January 28th local time, and lost 1-3 (25-22, 21-25, 15-25, 23-25).
After the match, we spoke with Monza's setter, Fernando Kreling (nicknamed Cachopa).
T: How was the match?
Cachopa: Today's match was difficult. Perugia is a very good team and we were not able to play at our highest level, so it was a difficult match for us.
T: I know these last two days, or maybe last week, have been very tough for you.
Cachopa: Yes, we had the Superliga game, but I think we did very well this weekend. Yesterday we had an amazing game against Trentino, and today we fought until the end. So yes, it was a tough week.
T: What did it take to win today's game?
Cachopa: It's difficult to say at this point. If I had to say, we made some mistakes. We were playing well (in general), but we made four, five or six mistakes in a row. You can't win against them (Perugia) like that. We had to keep playing well all the time. That's it.
T: How would you like to convey this second place finish to Takahashi?
Cachopa: Buddy! I love you! We all miss you! This medal is yours too, buddy!!
