Comments from Coach Kento Hayashi
I'm happy that we were able to play such a big match surrounded by so many fans. The tickets were sold out, and I realized that Turin is also a city filled with volleyball passion. It was a match that made me proud to be playing in Turin, our home town.
In the match, we started Ansoli for the first time in a while, and I think he did a great job. In the last match against Milan, he was the only player with a high attack effectiveness rate, so I think the match is not bad. We were able to suppress Egonou's attack effectiveness rate and suppress our opponent with our serves. However, our attacks were also not effective, and the match developed into a fierce defensive battle.
In the end, we were unable to hold on to our receptions and were in out-of-system situations, including rallies, which allowed Milan to make many plays that led to points, and I feel that this was the difference that decided the game.
Although we lost, I'm grateful that we were able to play in such a wonderful environment. When I spoke to the staff the next day, they told me that they took until 2am to dismantle the stadium. I will keep in mind that we are supported by such wonderful people, and will prepare to show a good performance in the next Coppa Italia. Thank you very much.
