In the second round of the second half of the Italian Women's Volleyball League, Firenze, which Ishikawa Mayu plays for, played against Pinerolo on Sunday, January 7th (local time) and won 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 24-26, 25-20). Ishikawa Mayu started and scored 20 points, the second highest on the team.
Alessia Mazzaro (MB, Florence) post-match interview
T: How do you feel looking back on the match?
Mazzaro: It was very important for us to get three points in today's match. In the first half, Pinerolo got two points at our home (winning in full sets), so it was very important to win today's match. We didn't play our best volleyball, but we managed to win. I think this is good.
T: I heard that you are good friends with Mayu Ishikawa. What is she like?
Mazzaro: Mayu is great. She is very open, and she is working hard to learn the language. We always go to dinner together after the matches, and we eat a lot of Italian food and I really like it. I am still learning English and Italian, so it is still a little difficult to communicate on the court, but we work well together and it is a lot of fun to play with her.
