The results of the first day of the final tournament of the 2025 Men's Volleyball World Championships (September 20th) are as follows.
1st round (Round of 16)
Türkiye – Netherlands
3-1 (27-29, 25-23, 25-16, 25-19)
Turkey, which finished first in Pool G along with Japan, will face the Netherlands, which finished second in Pool B.
The Netherlands won the first set, scoring mainly through attacks by OP Ahi, but Turkey took the lead in the second set with five blocks. OP Lagumjia scored a lot of points with a high success rate in the third set, and Turkey dominated the fourth set with a total of seven aces, including three from OH Manduraci, to win 3-1.
Poland – Canada
3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-16, 25-19)
Poland, ranked number one in the world and the leading contender to win, will face Canada, which defeated Japan to finish second in Pool G.
Poland took the first set without any trouble, but in the final stages of the second set, Poland's mistakes allowed Canada to take the lead, tying the score at 1-1. However, Poland then took advantage of the powerful attacks and blocks from OH Semeniuk and OP Kurek, winning the third and fourth sets in a row to win 3-1.
