Kento Miyaura's Nisa team loses to the powerful Skura in a full set

October 10, 2022

In the third round of the Polish Men's Volleyball League, NISA, which Miyaura Kento belongs to, played against Szkla Bełchatow (hereinafter Szkla) at home on October 9th local time. Szkla won the match 3-2 (20-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-8). NISA was unable to achieve its first three consecutive wins. Miyaura also entered the match as a substitute in the third set.

The stats for this match areHere

Their opponent that day, Szkla, is a strong team that regularly makes it into the top four of the Polish league and has previously won the league five times in a row and finished as runner-up in the European Champions League.

However, in the first and second sets, challenger Nisa took control of the match. Nisa scored points with the help of high spikes from opposite player Bentala (Tunisia) and outside player Gerjot (Poland), while Skura's attacks were not as good as he wanted and he made many mistakes. Nisa won the first and second sets in a row.

To be honest, it looked like Nisa was going to win 3-0, but their opponent was a strong team.

From the third set, Womacz of Szkla, who is also the setter for Poland, started to gather the ball to Bieniek, who is also the middle player for the national team, and Bieniek responded by producing a large number of spike points. With the mark going to the middle, it became easier for the sides, and the decision rate of Atanasiewicz (Serbia) and Koi (Italy) on the sides also increased, widening the point difference.

Nisa, who was struggling, made two substitutions. Miyaura appeared for the first time in two matches. Unfortunately, he was unable to earn any points this time, but his powerful serve, which forced the opponent to return the ball directly, was in effect a service ace. I think he managed to leave a mark on this day as well.

However, Skura won the third set, and after that, Bieniek and Atanasiewicz were unstoppable. Meanwhile, Nisa was gradually unable to get side-outs, and it became a difficult game. As a result, Skura was unable to turn the tide until the end and won the match 3-2.

In the end, Atanasievich scored 26 points with an amazing attack success rate of 75%. But the MVP was Bieniek. At the middle position, where double-digit points are considered amazing, he scored an astonishing 24 points (17 points on attack, 2 points on serve, 5 points on block), and his attack success rate was 651 TP3T. He is also about to join the ranks of monster middle players such as Simon (Cuba) and Muserskiy (Russia) (lol).

Nisa is still a young team, so it seemed like they rushed the win. However, I hope they will take it as a positive thing that they were able to fight this far against a strong opponent and move on to the next stage. For Miyaura, it must have been a great asset to be able to face such a strong opponent on the court.

Gerjot's Spikes

However, I am concerned about Nisa's low number of quick plays. This may be due in part to her low success rate in receiving serves, but the longer the match goes on, like this time around, the more this will affect her, so this will be an issue she will need to address in the future.

The next match will be against Radom away on Friday, October 14th at 8:30pm local time (3:30am Japan time).

I hope there will be more highlights for Miyanoura next time!!
