Match Report

Early in the first set, Katowice's MB Hein's serve broke Nisa OH Gerjot, and Katowice took the lead 0-4 with four consecutive points, including an ace.

After that, OP Ventala was caught in a block by OH Szymainski to make the score 3-9, so NISA made two substitutions, bringing in setter Szczuk and OP Miyaura.

However, Miyaura was caught in Katowice's block, and the score gap widened further to 4-12.

In the final stages, setter Zukowski's serves gave Nisa four consecutive points to close the gap to 17-20, within three points, but Katowice also got an ace from OP Jaros, who also scored a spike in the final stage to give Katowice a 21-25 first set win.

In the second set, Katowice scored consecutive points with aces and blocks from MB Hein's serve and took a big lead of 1-6 from the early stages.

Nysa also brought on OH Buszek (Poland) early on to replace OH Gerdzioth, but Katowice extended their lead to 8-14 thanks to a spike from OH Rousseau and an ace and spike from OH Szymainski.

However, thanks to a play from Bentala and spikes and blocks from substitutes OH El Graoui (Morocco) and MB Jankowski (Poland), Nisa gradually gained breaks and narrowed the gap, finally tying the score at 23-23.

After another long rally, OH Busek scored a spike to take the set point at 24-23, but Ventala immediately afterwards committed a foot fault on his serve, allowing Katowice to break consecutively, and Katowice took the set 24-26.

In the third set, Nisa used the same three players who had entered the game as substitutes from the second set from the start.

Early in this set, MB Abramovic scored two consecutive aces to make it 3-1, giving Nisa its first successful start in the match.

With spikes from Ventala and other plays, Nisa secured side outs, an ace from Abramovic, a block from Jankowski, and another ace from Ventala, and Nisa extended their lead to 14-9.

Nysa's momentum continued after that, as she broke Zukowski's serve three times in a row and Abramovic's serve two times in a row, playing a typical Nysa game with aggressive serves to overwhelm Katowice 23-15.

In the end, the opponent made a serve error and Nisa took the set back 25-17.

Zukowski's serve was strong from the start of the fourth set as well, with three consecutive breaks, including an ace of his own, giving Nysa a 4-0 lead.

From there, OP Ventala and OH El Graoui spiked with a high success rate, not allowing the opponents to break through, and on the other hand, Ventala hit an ace, allowing Nisa to maintain a large lead of 15-10 as the game progressed.

Katowice also closed the gap to three points at 21-18 with an ace from substitute OH Quiroga (Argentina), a spike from OP Yarosh, and two attacks from setter Seganov, but Nisa did not let the momentum go to their opponents with an ace from OP Ventala again, and went on to take the set 25-21.

In the early stages of the fifth set, OP Ventala made a spike error, allowing them to fall behind 2-3, and from there Nysa began to chase Katowice.

After that, OP Yaros blocked OH Elgraoui to extend Katowice's lead to 5-7, and then setter Seganov's two-attack exploded again to give Katowice a three-point lead at 8-11, heading into the end of the set.

Immediately afterwards, OH Busek of Nysa blocked OP Jaros of Katowice and took the break, but in the next side-out, OH Busek made a costly spike error, making the score 10-13.

Katowice had the first match point at 14-11 with an attack from OH Rousseau, but OH Busek scored an attack immediately after to prevent the first match point.

With no other options, Nisa sent in relief server Kento Miyaura as their final hope, but his serve was blocked by the net, and Katowice took the set 12-15 to defeat Nisa in a full set.

MVP: OP Jakub Jaros (20 points (1 serve, 2 blocks), attack success rate 571 TP 3T)

Miyaura scored one point, with an attack success rate of 251 TP and 3 T.

With this, Nisa maintains its provisional 5th place position with a total of 6 wins, 5 losses and 20 points.

The next match will be against Gdansk, who are in 6th place, at home on Friday, November 25th at 8:30pm local time (4:30am Japan time).

Thoughts etc.

To be honest, I thought we could win against Katowice 3-0, but it wasn't that easy.

As expected, it's tough when Gerjot loses his composure when receiving serves.

But this time the replacements did a great job.

It was also great to see the typical Nisa hitting the ball hard with her serves in the third and fourth sets.

However, Miyanoura wasn't very good.

He came on in the middle of the first set, and if he had been able to make a comeback there, he might have continued to play in the second set and beyond and performed well, but it was not good that he had two shots blocked in that short playing time.

I also missed my serve in the final set.

It may be tough, but if you can't take advantage of the few chances you have, you won't survive in the Polish league.

I hope that next time he will take advantage of the opportunity and show us his true potential on the court!!

Our opponent was Katowice, but OP Jarosh played well until the end.

It's not flashy, but it's a very stable opposite.

He was originally a Polish national team player, and is a talented player who won the European Championships and World League (the predecessor to the VNL), and was selected for the London Olympics team.

In terms of generation, he is a player of the same generation as Krek and Kubiak.

However, he was mostly a reserve player during his time with the national team, so I didn't have such a good impression of him, and I never imagined that he would become such a stable and reliable player at the age of 35.

I think I'll continue to secretly follow this player (laughs).

Nysa's next opponent will be Gdansk.

Let's grab the victory!!
