Match Report
In the first set, Paris took the lead 5-7 with two service aces from OH Cowell. After that, Narbonne tied the score at 10-10 with spikes from OH Kovacevic, and the match continued with the score remaining close. Paris took side-outs with OP Miyaura and Narbonne with OP Cagliari, but OP Cagliari's mistake allowed Paris to take the lead 21-18. OP Miyaura scored a spike at the end and Paris took the set 25-23.
In the second set, Narbonne started off with a series of errors, giving Paris a 3-0 lead. Narbonne closed the gap to 12-11 with a spike and an ace from OH Tatarov, but a set that left S. Mottapaes unable to pinpoint anything allowed Paris' attackers to score and extend the lead to 17-12. Narbonne continued to make errors, and Paris took the set 25-16.
In the third set, Paris took an early lead of 8-5 thanks to spikes from OP Miyaura and MB Wetter. Narbonne then scored consecutive block points, allowing them to turn the game around to 13-16. The momentum continued and Narbonne reached set point first with a spike from OP Cagliari at 20-24. However, Narbonne made a mistake and a block from OH Panu brought Paris to a tie at 24-24. At deuce, Narbonne was leading by one point and the match turned into a battle for side-outs, but a spike from OP Miyaura gave Paris a break to turn the game around to 29-28. Paris continued to score and took the set 30-28, beating Narbonne 3-0 and starting the opening match with a win.
