Match Report
In the first set, Milano took the lead 9-6 with three consecutive points, including an ace, from MB Rosell's serve, and then 14-10 with two consecutive aces from MB Piano. However, after that, OP Romano's spike and S Brizard's service ace tied the score at 16-16, and then OP Romano's service ace took the lead at 19-21. From there, both teams traded side-outs, but in the end, MB Ricci's spike was successful and Piacenza won the set 23-25.
In the second set, Piacenza got consecutive blocks from the beginning and took a 2-3 lead. Milano scored points mainly from OP Dirlic, but Piacenza continued to break the ball with constant service aces from OH Lucarelli and spikes from OP Romano, widening their lead to 9-13. In the final stages, OH Ishikawa's spikes and MB Vitelli (Italy), who entered the match as a substitute, narrowed the gap to 19-21, but then OH Lucarelli scored consecutive spikes to give Piacenza a set point at 20-24. Finally, OH Ishikawa's serve hit the net, and Piacenza took the set 21-25.
In the third set, Milan started with MB Vitelli and OH Melgarejo (Cuba). In the beginning, Milan made a lot of mistakes and Piacenza took the lead 2-6, but OH Melgarejo's spikes and serves allowed Milan to catch up at 7-7. However, S Brizard's spikes and others made breaks and Piacenza took the lead 11-14, and MB Simon's spikes and service aces widened the gap to 18-22. In the final stages, Milan brought in OH Kaziyski as a relief server, who made consecutive breaks from serves to close the gap to 22-23, but in the end OH Leal's spikes made it 23-25 and Piacenza took this set as well.
As a result, Milan lost to Piacenza 0-3.
