Match Report
In the first set, Katowice took a break early on with a block from OP Domagawa and a service ace from OH Quiroga to take a 2-5 lead, and then extended the lead to 6-11 with spikes from both players.
Nysa also narrowed the gap to 12-14 with a spike from OP Ventala and a block from MB Zerba, but Nysa's serve reception was still unstable, and with a spike from OH Szymainski, a block from MB Kania, and a service ace from relief server OH Mielczarek (Poland), Nysa allowed Katowice to take a large lead at 15-22.
In the end, OH Quiroga's serve went into the net for an ace, and Katowice took the set 17-25.
In the second set, Katowice also took a 6-10 lead early on with effective serves, spikes from OH Quiroga and blocks from OH Szymainski.
Nysa replaced four players with S. Szczurek (Poland), OH El Graoui (Morocco), OH Buszek (Poland) and OP Miyaura, but then ace goals from OH Szymainski and others allowed the score gap to widen to 7-15.
From there, Nisa also rallied, and with the help of spikes from OH El Graoui and OP Miyaura, as well as some mistakes from Katowice, they narrowed the gap to 16-20, but they were unable to get any closer, and in the end, OP Domagawa's service ace gave Katowice the set, 19-25.
In the third set, Nisa started the game with the same players who had been there since the middle of the second set.
At the start, OH El Graoui scored an ace, but shortly after, Katowice took the lead 2-5 with three consecutive breaks, including two aces, from OP Domagawa's serve.
Nisa also tied the score at 9-9 with some good serves from S. Szczuk and some spikes from OH El Graoui, but then they lost the lead again to 11-15 with a service ace from OH Szymainski and a spike from MB Adamczyk.
After that, Nysa brought OP Ventala back to the court and with his spikes, they narrowed the gap to 17-19, but immediately after that, OH Szymainski scored a spike and serve in succession to put Katowice ahead again at 17-22.
In the end, OH Busek's spike was caught by MB Adamczyk's block, and Katowice won the set 19-25, defeating Nysa 0-3.
MVP: OH Gonzalo Quiroga (17 points (3 on serve), attack success rate 581 TP3T, serve reception success rate 60%)
Miyaura Kento scored four points with a spike, with an attack success rate of 361 TP and 3 T.
With this, Nisa maintains its provisional 8th place position with a total of 14 wins, 13 losses and 43 points.
The next match will be against Gdansk, who are in 6th place, away from home on Sunday, March 12th at 17:30 local time (1:30 the next day Japan time).
All three of NISA's remaining games will be against higher-ranked teams, and their chances of qualifying for the playoffs, which require finishing 8th or higher in the regular season, are in jeopardy.
Thoughts on the match etc.
As I've written many times before, Nisa, your serve reception is terrible...
I especially hope that libero Dembiec will put in a bit more effort.
To put it bluntly, the libero directly conceding four points in three sets is not worth discussing.
There's clearly a shortage of actors.
Also, my serve wasn't good today.
When Miyaura was serving, it looked like we might be able to get consecutive breaks, but just when it looked like we were getting into the flow, our teammates made mistakes and we couldn't get into the rhythm.
As a spiker, he came on in the middle of the second set, and during the second set his spikes were hitting well and his success rate was high at 601 TP3T, but he lost momentum in the third set with only 171 TP3T.
With Szczurek as the setter, they were able to hit the quick tosses sharply after receiving the serve, but it seemed like their decisiveness dropped off when they were still in a rally.
It's a shame because if he had been able to maintain his high level of decisiveness in the third set, he could have won and been named MVP...
Well, it's really bad that their serve reception was so poor, so I would say they should at least avoid conceding any direct points.
I can understand Gergiot, but for me it's a shame that El Graoui looks like he could pass the ball but isn't that good (lol).
But we have no choice but to go with this team.
Against Katowice.
We were such a good team! (laughs)
The last time I saw them they seemed a bit lackluster, with veteran OP Jarosz (Poland) particularly doing a great job, but on this day all three side attackers performed well even though Jarosz was not there.
In particular, Quiroga's skillful attacks and Szymainski's serves aimed at catching the setter's attention showed that they were very skilled at the game.
Just like Zawierce's Kovacevic, Nisa is completely weak when it comes to nasty plays (lol).
Nisa is a top-ranked team that lost all three of their remaining games in the first half.
At the moment, they are in 8th place (43 points) and are just barely within the bounds of qualifying for the playoffs, but since Suwalki in 9th place has 38 points and five games left, I think it will be difficult for Nysa to make the playoffs unless they win at least two of their remaining three games.
Among them, we have an easier game against Gdansk next week and we must win at all costs and get three points.
All he can do is pray that his signature serve will be powerful.
Amen!!!
