Match Report

In the first set, Nysa's MB Abramovic started off with a service ace, but Gdansk took breaks with spikes from OP Bo Won-ju and OH Chang to take a 3-6 lead.

After that, Nysa continued to struggle with side outs as their serve reception was disrupted, while Gdansk continued to widen the gap with a service ace from OH Sawicki and a pipe attack from OH Chang, further increasing the lead to 9-16.

OP Ventara fought alone for Nisa, scoring consecutive points with spikes and serves, but OP Miyaura, who came on as a substitute in the final stages, also made consecutive mistakes, and Gdansk took the set 17-25.

In the second set, Gdansk started off with consecutive points, including service aces from S. Kampa and OH Sawicki, and extended their lead to 7-12.

Nysa scored points with a service ace from OH Kwasowski (Poland), who replaced OH Gerzhodt, and a spike from OH El Graoui, but Gdansk also scored a spike and a service ace from OH Sawicki, preventing the score from being narrowed to 15-21.

After that, Nysa missed three consecutive serves and missed a chance to fight back, and Gdansk took the set without any trouble, 18-25.

In the third set, with no other options, Nysa started with OH Kwasowski and MB Jankowski (Poland) from the start.

From this set onwards, Nisa was finally able to consistently get side outs thanks to spikes from OP Ventara and OH El Graoui, and the game remained close until the middle of the match, with the score at 14-14.

However, immediately afterwards, Gdansk took the lead at 14-17 with two consecutive breaks, including a service ace, from OP Bo Won-ju's serve, and then OH Chang stopped OH El Graoui with a block, further widening the gap to 15-19.

From there, OP Bo Won-ju scored a sure spike to bring Gdansk to match point at 21-24, and finally OH Sawicki scored a spike to win the set 22-25, giving Gdansk a 0-3 victory over Nysa.

MVP: OP Bartłomiej Bołżż (14 points (1 serve), attack success rate 72%)

Kento Miyaura substituted twice in the first set and played as a relief server in the second and third sets, but did not score any points.

With this, Nisa maintains its provisional 8th place position with a total of 14 wins, 14 losses and 43 points.

Also, as a result of this match, NISA's chances of advancing to the playoffs on their own (finishing 8th or higher in the regular season) have disappeared.

The next match will be against Rzeszów, who are currently in first place, at home on Friday, March 17th at 17:30 local time (1:30 the next day Japan time).

Thoughts on the match etc.

Nisa played another similar game to the previous one.

Once again, the main factors were our unstable serve receive and us being too easily thrown off balance, but I can personally think of the following two other reasons for our loss.

①I couldn't attack with my serve

Even though Nisa was broken down in serve reception, she continued to break down her opponents with her serves and win.

On this day, the number of service aces was not bad, with five in three sets, but the 17 service errors were high, and on top of that, the serves were touched too many times by the opposing libero Perry, and the effectiveness of the serves was not maximized.

Neither of Gdansk's two outside players were particularly good at receiving serves that day, so if they could just get past the libero, they would have had a great chance, but they were unable to do this consistently.

Furthermore, Gdansk's libero, Perry, is the top player in the league in serve reception rankings, so you shouldn't serve to a libero like that easily.

② Player selection

To conclude, we should have brought in mid-range player Zerba (Argentina).

Nisa was unable to apply pressure not only with her serves but also with her blocks, and Gdansk's team attack success rate was 84% in the first set and 711 TP3T in the second set, meaning that they were able to win almost every time they hit the ball (OH Chan alone had a success rate of 1001 TP3T despite being on the side until the second set lol).

Zerba is ranked 10th in the league in blocks and is one of the best blockers not only on the team but in the league as well.

From the manager's perspective, it seems that he left El Graoui out in order to play on the wing due to the foreign player limit, but I think it would have been better to leave El Graoui out in order to use Zerba.

El Graoui was also not in good form, so it would have been better to use the veteran Bušek (Poland) instead of sticking with him.

Nisa's manager, Prinski, makes frequent substitutions, but he also often uses players without clear intentions, so I hope he can improve this next season.

However, Nisa's biggest problem is still serve reception.

Each team has at least one player, including a libero, who is the key player in receiving serves, but Nisa does not have one.

Rather, the biggest concern may be the lack of a libero who can receive serves.

But we have no choice but to continue fighting like this this season, so we have to do something about it.

If they don't use Busek as an upfront player on the wing, one option would be to make him a libero, but with not much time left in the season, I don't think they'll try something so daring at this point.

With this defeat, they are no longer in a position to make the playoffs on their own, and it will now depend on the results of lower-placed teams Suwalki, Bełchatov and Lublin.

Nysa still has two games left, but these are against two teams in great form: Rzeszow, currently in first place, and Warsaw, who are on an 11-game winning streak, so it will be tough for them to win, let alone gain any points.

Still, I hope they will do their best to get a little closer to advancing to the playoffs.

And of course, I hope Miyaken gets more opportunities to shine.

JAZDA NYSA!!
