The first match of the Polish Przyliga Playoffs final between Zawierczek and Lublin took place on Wednesday, April 30th local time, with Lublin beating Zawierczek 0-3 (21-25, 22-25, 21-25) to take the win in their first match.
After the match, we spoke with OH Wilfred Leon (Poland national team) of Lublin, who contributed to the victory by scoring 13 points, including three service aces.
T: Congratulations on your victory. How do you feel looking back on this match?
Leon: Thank you. This match was an unexpected straight win (3-0). I knew that the opponents were at a high level, so I thought it would be 3-1 or 3-2. But today we played at a very high level, which is why we won early. Maybe in the next match, they will change their style. Let's see how they play at their home ground. But of course we will play as hard as we did today.
T: Did you know that tickets for your next match sold out in 26 seconds?
Leon: Yes, I know. At home, everyone is eager to see the game. It's the first time the team has played on such a big stage as this final, so it's very special and unexpected for the fans. That's why the tickets sold out so quickly.
