On Wednesday, April 16th (local time), the third match of the Italian Superlegago PO semi-finals between Perugia (Yuki Ishikawa) and Civitanova was held, and Civitanova won 2-3 (23-25, 25-20, 28-30, 25-22, 14-16) against Perugia, who were just one win away from advancing to the finals. This kept their hopes alive of a comeback and advancing to the finals.
After the match, Civitanova's Mattia Bottolo gave us some comments.
Bottro: (in Japanese as soon as he notices the author) Thank you!
T: Haha. How are you feeling now?
Vottolo: It's amazing, it's incredible. I think we played well in this game. Of course it's not easy. We tried to do it in the first game, but they were way ahead of us. They were really good today, but we were really good.
T: You won despite your starting libero, Barrasso, being out due to injury.
Bottolo: Yes, I think we covered the most ground today. That's good. Our next match is at home on Easter and I really wanted to play, and it happened.
T: I think this season has been the best of your career so far. How do you feel about it?
Vottolo: Yeah, definitely. I've been able to play (as a starter) all season.
T: This season you look like Nikaluffi (from One Piece).
Bottolo: Oh! I want to talk about this in detail. I actually put some Nikaluffi gear on my bag right before the season started, so maybe you're right haha.
T: Did you know that Ai Takahashi will not be playing in Italy next season either? (Both Ai Takahashi and Bottolo played for Padova three seasons ago.)
Bottolo: I know. It's unlucky for me. But I'm sure one day I'll play with him in the same team. It could be in Italy or Japan. We spoke about it last summer. I know he wants to play with me again.
