Perugia wins on strike against Taranto, with Ishikawa coming on as a substitute (Italian League Round 7)

On Sunday, November 10th local time, in the seventh round of the first half of the Italian Superlegaga, Perugia, where Ishikawa Yuki plays, will face Taranto.

The match started with a service ace from Ventara, and Perugia extended their lead from the beginning. Setter Gianelli, who returned to the starting lineup, scored points from tosses, and on the defensive side, Russo and Semeniuk's blocks worked effectively, and Perugia maintained their advantage against Taranto. Taranto showed signs of a comeback late in the first set, but Perugia's stable attack led to a loss of the set 18-25.

Perugia continued to lead in the second set, especially thanks to Plotnitskiy's serve and spikes. Taranto scored many points with blocks and aces, but was unable to defend against Perugia's attacks and lost the set again 14-25.

Taranto fought hard in the third set and held an early lead, but Perugia's Ventala and Semeniuk scored points at key moments to regain the lead, but Taranto held on and fought a fierce battle to tie the score at 23-23. Perugia eventually won the deuce and took the set and the match, 29-31.

Yuki Ishikawa started on the bench, but entered the court to replace Plotnitskiy, who was unable to make an attack in the final stages of the third set. Although he did not score any points, he contributed to his team's straight-set victory by winning a close match that went to deuce.

Up until the second set, Perugia was really one-sided, and in the third set, it seemed like they would win easily, but the game went down to deuce. This is the Italian League, where even lower-ranked teams are strong, so you can't let your guard down until the end.

Taranto's home games usually have around 1,000 spectators, but when the opponent is Perugia, a star team with Italian national team player Gianelli and others, the crowds come together, and this game had an audience of nearly 2,700. I think this kind of thing is similar in every country.

However, Perugia kept their undefeated record. Piacenza, who also had a perfect record, lost to Civitanova, so Perugia became the sole leader and the only team with a perfect record. If nothing happens in the first half of the season, they will probably go into the second half with a perfect record.
