The host country, France, garnered huge support from the local crowd, showed overwhelming strength in the semi-finals and finals, winning in straight sets. France outperformed Poland in all aspects of attack, block, serve and receive.

In the first set, France took control with a variety of decisive attacks from OP Patry and MB Sinenieze, and in the second set, France took control with three blocks from S. Brizard and a total of four service aces, winning both sets in a row.

In the third set, Poland regained their form with the introduction of OP Wołancz and S Womachi and led 15-17 in the middle, but relief server MB Jouffo hit five consecutive breaks, including three aces, and France took the lead at 23-18. Poland then got three consecutive breaks, including an ace, from OH Leon's serve to get to 24-23, but the last serve was an error, and France won the set at 25-23 to secure the victory.

France won their second consecutive Olympic gold medal, following their victory at the last Tokyo Games.
