Quarterfinals
Poland - Slovenia
3-1(25-20, 24-26, 25-19, 25-20)

Poland, led by two star players, OH Leon with 20 points including 5 service aces and OP Kulek with 19 points, defeated Slovenia 3-1 to become the first team to advance to the semifinals. Poland had not been able to get past the quarterfinals in five consecutive tournaments since the 2004 Athens Games, but they finally broke the curse in Paris and advanced to the semifinals for the first time since the 1980 Moscow Games. Slovenia finished in the quarterfinals in their first Olympic appearance.
Italy - Japan
3-2(20-25, 23-25, 27-25, 26-24, 17-15)

Italy came from 0-2 down to win three consecutive sets in deuce, and won a major comeback victory over Japan, advancing to the semi-finals for the first time in two tournaments since the Rio Olympics. Japan's OH Yuki Ishikawa was a big star, scoring 32 points, and they had four match points, three in the third set and one in the fifth set, but fell just short by one point. Italy's OH Micheletto scored 24 points.
France - Germany
3-2(18-25, 26-28, 25-20, 25-21, 15-13)

Germany won two sets in a row, followed by France winning three sets in a row, and advanced to the semifinals for the second consecutive tournament with a comeback victory. OH Ngape scored the most points for the team with 21 points, and his OP fall, which came on the court from the third set, was a game changer. Germany scored mainly from OP Grosselle, but they were unable to reach the top four for the first time since the 1972 Munich tournament.
America - Brazil
3-1(26-24, 28-30, 25-19, 25-10)

In the final quarterfinal, the United States won, taking advantage of the serve and block. OP Anderson contributed to the victory with 20 points. The United States is aiming for a medal for the first time in two tournaments since the bronze medal at the Rio Olympics. Brazil failed to advance to the semifinals for the first time in six tournaments since the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
