Poland's Silivka: "Poland's fans are the best in the world" "I'll let you know where I'll play next when the time comes" Interview after friendly match

May 20, 2024

On May 16, a friendly match between Poland and Ukraine was held in Sosnowiec, Poland, with Poland winning 4-0 (25-21, 25-21, 26-24, 25-15).

After the match, we spoke with Polish national team outside hitter Aleksander Silivka, who is rumored to be transferring to Japan's SV League next season.

Silivka played the full game, leading both teams with 17 points (including 2 blocks) and an attacking efficiency rate of 35.711 TP3T.

Toshiki: How do you feel looking back on these two days of friendly matches?

Silivka: These past two days... Today we wanted to win in front of our fantastic fans. Polish fans are the best in the world. Yesterday we had a tough match against Germany. They played really good volleyball. Today we wanted to improve and beat Ukraine. And we did that and once again we were able to deliver that victory to our fantastic fans. We thank them for standing with us and supporting us in this match.

Toshiki: How is the condition of you and the team?

Sirikhka: We started training two and a half weeks ago. We have been working on a lot of things so far, everything we do with volleyball. The aim is to improve. Of course, when we step on the court, the aim is to win, but at the same time, we want to improve our volleyball every day. We pay attention to the small details that make the difference. We are approaching our training with this approach. We want to continue this and make our team better every day.

Toshiki: Are you going to participate in the Japan round?

Sirikhka: I hope so. There will be a tournament in Fukuoka and our team will be there. It would be great if I could be a part of it and go there. The Japanese fans are also great.

Toshiki: And will you be able to come to Japan after the Olympics?

Silivka: Yes, I'm no longer with Zaksa, but I'll let you know where I'll be playing next when the time comes.
