"We are lucky to have acquired a player like Yuki Ishikawa" "For me, health is the most important thing" - Polish national team player Semeniuk interviewed after friendly match

On May 15, a friendly match between Poland and Germany was held in Katowice, Poland, with Germany winning 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 25-16, 28-26).

After the match, we spoke with Kamil Semeniuk, an outside hitter for the Polish national team who will be teammates with Yuki Ishikawa at Perugia (Italy) next season.

Semeniuk played the full match, leading both teams with 17 points (1 serve and 1 block), and had an attack efficiency rate of 581 TP3T.

Toshiki: How are you feeling?

Semeniuk: I'm a little sad because we lost the match, but it's just the beginning. We're looking ahead. We have another match tomorrow, and we'll do our best to win it. We have weight training in the morning, so it will definitely be a tough day tomorrow. Don't expect to be able to jump like a kangaroo (laughs). But it will be a good experience. We will play a little tired, but it will be good for us because it will be similar to how we will play every day in the tournament. It's not easy to play in that condition, but we have to learn how to do it.

Toshiki: How is your condition?

Semeniuk: I am healthy. This is the most important thing for me. I didn't have much time off (after finishing the Italian league), but I'm not the type of person who needs a week or two to recover after finishing a club season, so if I have two days, three at most, I feel like I have to train and play volleyball. So being here one week after the club season is over is not a problem. I'm always ready for the manager's demands. If I go to the first week of the VNL, I'll be happy to pack my bags. I'm healthy, that's the most important thing.

Toshiki: Are you going to participate in the Japan round?

Semeniuk: That's a question for the coach (laughs). I don't know yet. But I look forward to going to Japan every time. The tournament is well organized and the fans are crazy. So I'd be happy to go to Japan again.

Toshiki: How do you feel about playing with Ishikawa at Perugia next season?

Semeniuk: I'm very happy. He's a good player. He showed last season at Milan that he's a great outside hitter. We were lucky to get such a player.
