Toshiki's comment
I watched this match live.
It was a match in which winning just one point, or two sets, would have secured a place in the playoffs.
Paris had won the first leg against Nice at home 3-0, so I thought to myself "Can we win easily and without any trouble?", but it wasn't that easy...
In the first set, Miyaura's individual success rate was very high, but OH Panu's spikes were not good enough, and Paris could not serve effectively, so Nice took the set without giving up a single break point.
However, in the second set, Kai started on the court and brought momentum to his team, scoring with spikes, blocks and serves.
Also, the performance of the other players was also influenced by him, and Paris won the second and third sets almost one-sidedly. During these two sets, Kai's attack efficiency rate was 78%, and Miyaura's attack efficiency rate was 90%, which was an astonishing number.

Kai's attack sound was especially amazing. I felt that his height and power had improved dramatically during his time at Paris Volleyball. His pipe attacks were especially powerful.
Also, when Kai scores a point, everyone on the court congratulates him lovingly, which really improves the atmosphere on the court. I guess he's like everyone's little brother (laughs).
And it looked like he would easily take the fourth set and the match would end, but he struggled with Nice's blocks in the early stages of the set, allowing eight consecutive breaks and allowing Nice to take the set.
In the middle of this set, when the setter Mottapaes went to the bench, he was so frustrated that he kicked a plastic bottle on the bench, spilling water on the floor and stopping the match. Mottapaes is a highly skilled setter, but I think this is an area where he is still immature, or inexperienced, and needs to improve.

In the fifth set, we were in a desperate situation, with Nice trailing by two points at 9-11 until the end.
However, after getting a side out, Miyaura then scored an ace to make the score 11-11, and Kai's following serve also went into the net for an ace, giving Paris a 14-12 lead and match point!!!
And in the end, OH Conde scored a spike and Paris won by a narrow margin, 15-13!!
I thought Kai would be the MVP, but it was Miyaura. Well, it's obvious if you look at the points and the conversion rate, but I wanted Kai to win today.
Everyone at Paris Volleyball also thought Kai was the MVP and was teasing him a lot (laughs).
Anyway, there is no doubt that today's game was won thanks to the outstanding performance of the two Japanese players! It was a great experience!
With this, Paris is now in 8th place in the regular round, and their opponent in the playoff will be Chaumont, who is also in 1st place. They have not beaten this season, but last week they were really close to winning in a full set, so they should have a chance to win.
We look forward to seeing them rise from 8th place!!!
