Post-match comments from players
OP Kento Miyaura
As a team, I'm glad we won the match 3-0, but personally, I wasn't in good shape today. I think it was good that I was able to score at key moments in the first set, but in the second set, some things didn't go well for me, and I couldn't go all out from the middle. That was a really tough stretch, but I personally think I was able to recover well in the third set, so I think this was a good experience for me, and I would like to take the parts of the match that I was able to recover and make them my own.
OH Kai Yuto
In the second set, I was able to serve in a close match and get a good break, so I think that was good.
Toshiki's Tweets
This day was an on-site interview.
I'm glad we won for now!
They had lost both of the two games I had seen live so if they had lost this time too it would have been a sure thing, but I was glad that instead of "what happens twice happens three times," the third time was a charm (laughs).
Although the opponent was behind at the beginning of the first set and in the middle of the second set, the match progressed with Paris in the lead for the most part.
However, as Miyaura himself said, his form was not good, and he was blocked a lot especially in the second set, and was unable to score many points.
However, he made some solid shots on high balls towards the end of the second set, and from then on made a big contribution to his team with a high success rate in the third set.
However, in this match, MVP Conde's stable performance on both offense and defense really stood out. We have won four consecutive league matches so far, and five consecutive matches if you include the French Cup, so I really think that his addition has been a big thing for Paris Volleyball.
After all, he is only 19 years old (Kovačević, who was originally in the starting lineup, is 40, less than half that age). I'm looking forward to seeing what he does next.
Mottapaes also stood out. It was his serve that saved us from a difficult situation in the first set, and he even hit a back attack during a rally that day (laughs). He really loves hitting the ball (laughs).
Although Kai didn't score directly, he contributed to the winning set with two consecutive breaks in the second set. It was good to see that he was blending in well with the team.
Montpellier has a team with more players than Paris, including MB Lugoff and OH Reichert, but on this day, their serves didn't go well and their spikes didn't go well. You never know.
Also, there were a lot of spectators that day, and many people were standing. At least, it was the best attendance out of the three matches I saw.
As a result, there was a huge wave of people stranded on the court after the match.
As expected, Miyaura is the most popular, followed by Kai.
Japanese athletes are really popular in whatever country they go to.
