In the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia men's volleyball tournament in Italy, Ishikawa Yuki's Milan team played against Perugia on Saturday, January 27th (local time) and lost 2-3 (25-20, 23-25, 15-25, 25-23, 11-15). Ishikawa Yuki started and scored 17 points, the most on the team.

Match Report
In the first set, Perugia took the lead 1-3 with an ace from OH Semeniuk, but Milan made a comeback with a break from OH Kaziyski's spike to make it 9-8. Milan extended their lead to 17-13 with an ace from S Pollo and a spike from MB Piano, and then OP Regels' ace and an OH Ishikawa spike made it 20-15. MB Rosell scored a spike to end the set 25-20.
In the second set, Milan took the lead 3-0 with a spike from OP Regels. From there, OH Ishikawa's spikes and other points added up to 9-6, but Perugia made a comeback with a 10-11 lead thanks to a break from OP Ventara's spikes. Milan took the lead again 13-12 with a block from S Porro, but Perugia then scored consecutive breaks with spikes from OH Plotnicki and OP Ventara, and a service ace from Russo to take a big lead of 15-20. Milan took the lead to 18-20 with a spike from OP Dilić (Croatia), who entered the match as a substitute, and then closed the gap to 23-24 with a service ace from OH Kaziyski in the final stages, but OH Semeniuk's spikes gave Perugia a 23-25 victory in the set.
In the third set, Perugia took a big lead from the beginning, 4-10, with a block from OP Plotnicki and a service ace from OH Semeniuk. Perugia then widened the gap to 5-13 with a spike from OH Plotnicki and other efforts. Milan narrowed the gap to 11-15 with a spike and block from OH Melgarejo (Cuba), who came in as a substitute, but Perugia broke the ball with a block from OH Semeniuk and a spike from OP Ventala, and took a big lead again, 13-22. Perugia won the set with a block from MB Russo, 15-25.
In the fourth set, Perugia made five consecutive breaks early on, thanks to a service ace from MB Russo and a block from MB Sole (Argentina) who entered the match as a substitute, leading to a score of 2-7. Furthermore, Perugia made a large lead with a service ace from OH Semeniuk and a spike from OH Plotnicki, leading to a score of 8-16. However, Milan gradually closed in on Perugia with a break, gaining a service ace from OH Ishikawa to 12-16, a block from OH Melgarejo to 15-17, and a service ace from OP Regels to 17-18. Then, with a spike from OH Ishikawa, Milan tied the score at 19-19, and at the end of the set, a spike from OH Melgarejo led Milan to a 22-21 comeback. In the end, Milan won the set 25-23 with a pipe attack from OH Ishikawa.
In the fifth set, Perugia took the lead 2-6 with OP Ventara's spikes and blocks from the beginning. Milan narrowed the gap to 8-10 with MB Piano's spikes and blocks and opponent's mistakes. Milan closed the gap to 11-12 with a service ace from S Pollo, but OH Plotnicki spiked from a serve by relief server OH Leon (Poland) to put Perugia on match point at 11-14. Finally, OH Leon scored a service ace to win the set at 11-15.
As a result, Milan lost to Perugia 2-3.

This meant Milan was eliminated in the Coppa Italia semi-finals for the third consecutive year.
