From there, Saint-Jean-Diyarrac caught up with 13-13 thanks to a service ace from OH Demirovic, but Paris maintained their lead at 17-15 thanks to spikes from OP Miyaura. After that, a mistake by Paris widened the gap to 20-22, and in the end, a serve error by S Mottapaes gave Saint-Jean-Diyarrac the set at 23-25.
In the second set, Paris started the match with OH Cowell (USA) instead of OH Kovacevic. In the early stages, OH Cowell's spikes and aces, as well as MB Marce's quick play after his set, gave Paris an early lead of 11-9. We lost in straight sets to Sanjan Diyarak, who had only one win this season... We couldn't even take a single set against an opponent we wanted to win three points from for sure.
In every set, we were doing well until the middle, but then we were overtaken and couldn't catch up, and we ended up losing.
Looking at the stats, while there was little difference in spikes and blocks, there was a big difference in serve and serve reception. Saint-Jean-Diéralac had 6 service aces, 7 service errors, and a serve reception success rate of 58%, while Paris had 3 service aces, 14 service errors, and a serve reception success rate of 39%. With twice as many serve errors and half as few service aces, it's impossible to win.
Miyaura had a service ace in the first set, but after that, he was unable to break from his own serve. I don't think his spike numbers were bad overall, but he seemed to lose a lot of points in attacks towards the end.
Of course, he made some good plays, such as hitting a high ball powerfully to score, a skillful roll shot, and a score from the left for the first time in a while, so I think he will continue to improve from here.
Cowell, who came in as a substitute, did a good job on both offense and defense in this game. He also made a big play by giving a quick pass to Marcel to score, and it's a shame that he couldn't be the lucky boy of the game. However, his performance this time will be a positive thing for the future.
It seems like Paris is in a quagmire. They're not meshing well, and they're not a team, including the bench work. I hope they find a solution soon.
As for Miyaura personally, I think his performance has yet to reach its full potential, so I would like to see a game this year that shows us "This is our Miyaken!" Good luck!!!
