The 2023 Men's Volleyball Asian Championship is being held in Urmia, Iran. On Friday, August 25th local time, the Japanese national team faced Qatar in the semi-finals and won 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-14, 28-26).
After the match, setter Seita Sekita gave us some comments.
-How do you feel looking back on today's game?
Sekita: I'm relieved that we were able to win even though we had a hard time getting into the flow.
What was the difficulty of today's match?
Sekita: The Qatari team was playing some good volleyball and we also made some good plays, but we couldn't continue that play, so that was very difficult.
-What was the atmosphere like at the venue today?
Sekita: It's very enthusiastic, and I think it's great that there are so many people.
-Please say a few words about tomorrow's final.
Sekita: This will be a very important match leading up to the OQT for the Paris Olympics, so I would like to win and carry that momentum into the OQT.
