The 2023 Men's Volleyball Asian Championship is being held in Urmia, Iran. On Friday, August 25th local time, the Japanese national team faced Qatar in the semi-finals and won 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-14, 28-26).
After the match, opposite player Kento Miyaura gave us some comments.
-How do you feel looking back on today's game?
Miyaura: The venue was different from the previous match and had a very away atmosphere, so it was very difficult, but I'm glad we managed to win.
-Today you started playing from the second set. How did you feel when you stepped onto the court?
Miyaura: I think I was brought in to change the flow of the game, so I really wanted to play with all my might to help the team, and conversely, I was also helped in some ways by Seki-san's (Sekita) tossing work.
-If you had to pick out what went well and what were the difficulties in your individual play in today's match, what would you say?
Miyaura: My serve wasn't stable, and this gym, or rather Urmia, is at a higher altitude than usual, so the ball tends to travel a little further. It's difficult to adjust that, but we have one more game to go, so I'd like to do my best to improve it.
