Tilley: "Japan was really good" "Miyaura's performance was shocking" Interview at the VNL France tournament

On the second day of the second week of the Volleyball Nations League, France played against Argentina, with Argentina winning 3-1 (22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-20). After the match, we asked Kevin Tille, a member of the French national team, for a comment.

-I think there were a lot of questions from local reporters about today's loss, so I'd like to ask you about the VNL Japan tournament. How was it in Japan?

Tille: It was great! We lost three games, but we went to Japan as challengers with a different, younger team and were able to win one game. We lost again today, but I had a great time in Japan. You already know that I love Japan (laughs). I really enjoyed a lot of things, including the food. It's always fun when I go to Japan. The fans were great too. I had a lot of fun playing against Japan. We lost, but it was a good game.

-Could you tell us more about the match against Japan?

Tille: Japan played very well in that match. I think we had a chance to win, but we were a little lacking in experience. I think they've played a lot of time together, but we haven't had a lot of time to practice with that team. We haven't had enough time to play with this team recently, either. There are always difficulties in these situations. There were some small errors against Japan, and we were very close, but those little things cost us the match. Of course, they played really well. Japan is doing really well right now.

--Miyaura, who entered the court midway through the match, must have been quite impressive with his performance.

Tille: Yes. He went on the court and played really well. I knew he was a really good player because he always did well when he went on the court in the Polish league against Nysa, but this time he was the one who brought the victory to Japan. It was a shocking performance.

-How did you spend your time in Japan apart from the match?

Tiri: We went out every day and ate at least ramen or sushi every time. We also tried gyoza, went to a beef restaurant with the team, and walked around the area. It's always fun to explore Japan. Everyone on the team loves it.

-What was the most delicious food you had during your stay?

Tiri: We had really good sushi. It was really good. It's really hard to find sushi places like that in Europe. Tuna, fatty tuna, you know, it's really hard to find that kind of sushi in Europe. So it was really good to have that. And as for the ramen, we went to a lot of different ramen places and it was all really good. It was amazing.

The day after this interview, on the day Japan defeated Brazil, Tille said, "Miyaura was extremely good today!"
