The men's match between Poland and Argentina was held in Plock, Poland on Friday, June 16th local time.
After the match, I had a brief chat with Poland coach Nikola Grbic.
-What do you think about this year's Japanese national team?
Grbic: They are growing a lot. They are getting better every year. I think Flip (Brand) has done a lot for them. They have a system that makes use of the good parts that Japan has. They are clearly always close to us, the Polish team. If we are not at our best, if we are not aggressive, if we do not play well, we are always at risk of losing to Japan. We will play two practice games against the Japanese team in Japan, and in the VNL we will face them in the final match of the qualifying round in the Philippines, and by then we will be a more refined team than we were two weeks ago when we played the practice game.
-Who was the most impressive player on the Japanese team?
Grbic: Ishikawa had a great season in Milan. I thought it was a really great season. I think he's a natural team leader.
