Match Report

The first set began with an ace from Milan's Rosell.

However, Piacenza then scored consecutive points with a spike from Romano, a service ace from Brizard, and a block from Simon, extending their lead to 5-11.

From there, Piacenza extended their lead to 9-16 with a service ace from Simon.

Milan also managed to get side outs with Patri's spikes, but they were unable to get a break, and in the end, Real's spike was successful, giving Piacenza the set, 17-25.

In the second set, Piacenza took the lead 5-7 early on with spikes from Lucarelli and a service ace from Real, and then extended the lead to 8-12 with consecutive blocks.

After that, Piacenza continued to widen the gap to 11-18 due to Milano's attack mistakes and Kaneschi's spikes.

In the end, Rosell made a serve error and Piacenza took the set 16-25.

In the third set, Piacenza started off strong with a service ace from Lucarelli, taking a 0-5 lead.

Milan narrowed the gap to 7-10 with spikes from Ishikawa and Patri, but Piacenza quickly widened the gap again to 10-18 with spikes from Romano and a block from Kaneschi.

From there, Milano scored one after another with consecutive blocks from Piano and a service ace from Melgarejo, tying the score at 21-21, but Ishikawa was caught by consecutive blocks, giving Piacenza a match point at 21-24.

Finally, Real scored a spike and Piacenza took the set 22-25.

As a result, Milan lost 0-3 to Piacenza.

MVP: OP Yuri Romano (15 points, 60% attack success rate)

Ishikawa Yuki scored 7 points, with an attack success rate of 30% and a serve receive success rate of 36%.

The second match of the playoff third place match will be held at home on Wednesday, May 3rd at 8:30pm local time (3:30am Japan time).

Thoughts on the match etc.

Up until now, Milan have been thoroughly beaten away in the first playoff legs against both Perugia and Civitanova, and this time was no exception as they were thoroughly beaten 0-3... (laughs).

Piacenza's serve and block worked like a charm, putting a lot of pressure on Milan's serve reception and spiking.

On the other hand, Milan struggled with their serves not having much power and with both Ishikawa and Melgarejo unable to improve their outside shot success rates.

It was a rare sight to see these two, who had been in such great form up until that point, both fail to score at the same time.

Melgarejo had a success rate of 26%, while Ishikawa had a success rate of 30%, conceding 8 goals.

The score was 7, so the effectiveness rate is negative.

It was a rare, lackluster game for Ishikawa.

Piacenza dominated the match for most of the time, but their comeback from 10-18 down to 21-21 in the third set was incredible.

Things finally started to pick up around this time, but it was too late.

But I think these aspects will lead to new opportunities.

The next game is at home and I'm sure they will win!!!

However, I am concerned about the condition of Ebadipool.

The fact that both OHs were not substituted in this game despite being in such poor form makes me worry that their injuries have not yet fully recovered.

I hope we can see Ebadipoour on court at the next home game!!

Piacenza is a team in which all six players, including the middle players, are big servers, so if they let their serves go in this match, they will be really troublesome.

First of all, even if they can't return the ball cleanly, they want to reduce the number of points they are losing directly, and Milano should also aggressively attack with their serves and put pressure on their opponents!!!

Now all that's left is for Simon to stop the piano!!!

And shine, Patrie!!!

Forza Milano!!!
