Defalco: "I'm really looking forward to (the Olympic qualifiers in Japan)" Interview after the third quarterfinal match

April 19, 2023

In the third match of the quarterfinals of the Polish Men's Volleyball League (Przlyga), Miyaura Kento's team, NYSA, played against Rzeszow at home on Friday, April 14th local time, and lost 1-3 (26-24, 19-25, 20-25, 18-25), being eliminated from the quarterfinals.

After the match, we spoke with Rzeszow's Torey Defalco (OH, USA).

--Congratulations on advancing to the semi-finals. How do you feel looking back on today's match?

Defalco: Thank you. I think this away game was very good. Nisa is a very good team and the crowd here was very loud, so it was a difficult game, but we played well.

-I think this season has been the best of your club career so far. How do you feel about it?

Defalco: Yes, I agree. Everything is always moving forward and I try to learn as much as I can and get better every year.

-What about the Polish league?

Defalco: I think the Polish league is one of the top leagues in the world. It's the top league if you look at the results of the UEFA Champions League (this year the final will be between Polish clubs). Everything here is at a very high level.

- Regarding the Paris Olympic qualifiers, the US national team will be playing in Japan. What do you think about this?

Defalco: I'm really looking forward to it. I love going to Japan and it's an amazing country, and the volleyball atmosphere is even better. It's amazing. I'm really looking forward to it.
