Match Report

In the early stages of the first set, both teams made repeated serve errors and the score gap did not widen, but then OH Filscht scored consecutive spikes to put Radom ahead at 6-8.

Nisa also made a comeback to lead 11-8 with four consecutive breaks, including an ace from his own, on OH El Graoui's serve, but Radom quickly added another break with an ace from OH Firsch and a spike from OH Łukasik to take the lead again at 13-15.

The match continued into the final minutes, with Radom first to get a set point at 22-24, but Nisa managed to tie the score at 24-24 with a spike and block from OH El Graoui, and the match went to deuce.

Nisa passed the ball to OP Ventala and OH Gerjot, while Radom passed it to OP Schultz, and both teams scored points, but in the end, Radom's MB Tammemaa's block touched the net, and Nisa took the set 29-27.

In the second set, Nisa scored three consecutive breaks early on, including a block from S. Zukowski and a service ace from OP Ventala, to take a 7-4 lead.

After that, Nisa continued to get side outs mainly through spikes from OP Ventala, and continued to break with blocks from MB Abramovic and a de facto ace from OH Gerjot, extending their lead to 5 points at the middle of the game, 17-12.

It seemed like Nisa would continue in the lead, but Radom managed to take a break with attacks and blocks from OH Filsch, a service ace from MB Tammemaa, and a block from MB Lemainski, and successfully turned the game around to 19-20.

In the final stages, Radom pulled away from Nysza with MB Lemainski scoring two consecutive aces, but in the end Nysza made a passing error and Radom took the set back at 21-25.

In the third set, Nisa started the match with OH Kwasowski (Poland) replacing OH El Graoui and MB Zerba (Argentina) replacing MB Jankowski.

In the early stages, MB Lemainski hit another ace and Radom took the lead 2-4, but Radom made several mistakes and then OP Ventala got a block point, allowing Nisa to quickly turn the game around to 8-7.

After that, one of them seemed to provoke the other, and a heated argument broke out on either side of the net, resulting in both players being shown red cards, but Nisa continued to extend her lead to 17-14 with a spike and a service ace from OP Ventara and a break from reliever Miyaura's serve.

In the final stages, S. Zukowski for Nisa spread the tosses around and everyone got side outs, and finally Radom's serve went in error, giving Nisa the set 25-20.

In the fourth set, just like the first set, both teams made serve errors and side outs continued, but at 5-5, Nisa took a break with an attack from OH Gerjot to take the lead 9-6.

Furthermore, with an ace from OH Gerjot's serve and a spike from OP Ventala, Nisa extended the lead to 5 points, 12-7.

Radom also closed the gap to just one point at 13-12 thanks to a block by MB Remainski and a mistake by Nisa, but then Nisa's serve went strong and OP Ventala and OH Gerjot scored counter attacks to bring the score to 19-14, again five points behind.

The two players continued to spike and took side outs until the end, when Nisa had match point, and MB Abramović finished off OH Lukasik with a block to make it 25-20.

As a result, Nisa defeated Radom 3-1, marking their fifth consecutive league win.

MVP: OP Wasim Bentala (24 points (2 serves, 4 blocks), attack success rate 49%)

Miyaura served six times and broke twice but did not score.

With this, Nisa maintains its provisional 5th place position with a total of 11 wins, 8 losses and 35 points.

The next match will be against Zaksa Kędzierzyn Kozile, who are in 4th place, away from home on Monday, January 16th at 8:30pm local time (4:30am Japan time).

The report for the first half is here:

Thoughts etc.

Radom was a lower-ranked team, so I was glad that we were able to win 3-1 and secure the three points.

As expected, if they are disrupted in serve reception they will lose points in succession, but as Miyaura commented in the previous match, Nisa is strong if they can attack with their serves more than their opponents.

It seemed like in this match that even players who normally hit jump serves hit jump floaters a lot, so there may have been data showing that Radom is weak against jump floaters, but in any case, it worked to his advantage.

Miyaura contributed to consecutive breaks with his serve in the third set, but it was unfortunate that he wasn't lifted by Gerjot on the day (laughs).

MVP Ventala continues to perform well following his last fight against Bełhatov.

It's good to think of Nisa's victory, but it's a bit complicated when you think about Miyaura's chance to play as an OP...

I hope that somehow he can make it into the starting lineup again as an OP, stay on the court until the end, and see his team win.

There will probably be talk of transfers for next season soon, and I think the opposite position is one that is likely to be filled early on in the team, so do you hope you get an opportunity to make your case early on?

It looks like the only thing we can do is pray.

This match was also riddled with trouble, with Gerjot's serve hitting the linesman and a dispute resulting in both players receiving red cards (laughs).

Speaking of both receiving red cards at the same time, I remember the first Polish national team match I saw in Poland, when the then captain Kubiak and Iran's Mousavi got into a fight during the game and both received red cards at the same time (lol).

I'm also curious about the number of red cards a player has received in his lifetime.

There seem to be a lot of Kubiaks after all (lol).

Another thing that struck me while watching this match was the reaction of the spectators at the venue.

Towards the end of the first set, when Radom's setter's play started to look like a dribble, the crowd reacted as if they were protesting, but I don't think you see this kind of thing very often at Japanese venues.

Determining whether or not you have dribbled is fairly easy for people who watch volleyball a lot and know a lot about it, but for others it can be difficult to make the judgment, and I think many people are not even aware that such rules exist in the first place.

In that sense, it was a moment that made me realize once again how much Polish fans know about volleyball.

Their opponent, Radom, had been performing poorly and changed their manager mid-season.

Up to this point, this is a common story in the Polish league, but the newly appointed manager was actually the team's former starting setter!

In this match, OH Filst, MB Remainski, and OP Schultz showed consistent performances, but the team has yet to win even after the change of manager and remains in a difficult situation.

Anyway, 3 valuable points!

Especially in the second half of the season, we had few home games, so it was great to win in front of our home fans!!

Next up he will face the strong opponent Zaksa Kędzierzynkośle.

We won the first half, but the opposing team's opening player was not in the starting lineup, so I think that helped us a lot.

I'm sure they'll be fielding a full team this time, so I have a feeling it'll be a great game.

I will be covering the next match on-site! Looking forward to it!
