Match Report
In the first set, Nisa started off by allowing Suwalki to score consecutive points, but with a block from MB Zebra and an ace from OH Gerjot, they quickly turned the game around to 6-4, and then with block points from MB Abramovic and OP Ventala, they extended their lead to 12-8.
Nisa continued to get side outs, mainly with the three on the sides, despite the rallies, and maintained the lead at 18-14 as the game drew to a close. MB Abramovic then made consecutive blocks to further extend the lead to 21-14.
After that, OH Gergiot blocked OP Filipiak, and then reliever Miyaura also got a service ace to put them in a position to set at 24-17. Finally, MB Zerba's quick hit gave Nisa the set at 25-18 with ease.
In the second set, Nisa took the lead 4-1 early on with a block from MB Zerba and a spike from OH Gerjot off an serve from OP Ventara.
Suwalki's OP Filipiak finally started to hit the ball well, and he continued to score points mainly from his spikes, tying the score at 8-8. However, Nisa's blocks and serves worked well, and he gradually started to break through, and OP Ventala scored a spike from a good dig by L Biniek, who was playing as switch libero when Nisa was serving, to widen the gap to 18-13 in the middle of the game.
After that, Nisa was broken several times, but her side attackers managed to get side outs at key moments, putting her at 24-21 and reaching set point.
From there, Suwalki started to catch up with a spike from OP Filipiak and an ace from OH Halaba to make it 24-23, but in the end OH Halaba made a serve error and Nisa took the set 25-23.
In the third set, Suwalki's OP Filipiak consistently scored points from S. Sanchez's fast tosses, while Nysa made a series of attacking errors, and the match progressed with Suwalki in the lead at 6-8 in the early stages.
However, with two consecutive service aces from MB Abramovic, Nisa tied the score at 12-12, and then with a block from OP Ventala and a teamwork error from Suwalki, they managed to turn the game around and take a 15-13 lead.
After that, Nisa's OH Gerdjot and Suwalki's OP Filipiak and others traded side outs, and Nisa reached match point, but finally MB Takvam's quick was out, and Nisa took the set 25-21 and defeated Suwalki 3-0.
MVP: OH Michal Gerzsot (15 points (2 serves, 1 block), attack success rate 631 TP 3 T)
Miyaura scored one point with a service ace.
With this, Nisa has risen to provisional 5th place with a total of 8 wins, 8 losses and 26 points.
The next match will be against Rubin, who are in 13th place, at home on Wednesday, December 21st at 18:30 local time (2:30 the next day Japan time).
The report for the first half is here:
Thoughts etc.
It was a comfortable win, a straight win indeed.
Although they had beaten their opponents that day, Suwalki, 3-1 in the first half of the game, Suwalki had improved their form thereafter and finished the first half of the season in 6th place overall, earning them a place in the Puhal Polski cup.
Therefore, it was expected that it would be more difficult than the first half, but when the match started, Nisa was really strong (laughs).
Right from the first set, he made a ton of blocks, hit the ball hard with his serves, and kept the ball from dropping, showing a high level of concentration until the very end.
Even if the reception was a little disrupted, as it was on this day, Nisa's style was for the three players on the side to get the side outs and then beat their opponents with more serves than they could, and this was their winning formula.
In that sense, it's been a while since we've seen a game that is so true to NISA from start to finish!!
In particular, OH Gerdjot, who won the MVP, had a great attack success rate of 631 TP3T and 3 service aces, and was named MVP again after his previous match against Lviv.
The struggling player he was just a few games ago is no longer there, and it seems he has overcome his slump and regained the brilliance he had at the beginning of the season.
The spikes are still hitting from a high point on a long course, so I can't catch them (laughs).
A matchup against the 173cm tall S. Sanchez was surely a hopeless one for his opponent.
Both middle players also did a great job blocking today.
MB Zerba is an Argentine national team player like his opponent S. Sanchez, so perhaps he was used to his tossing technique.
MB Abramovic played brilliantly, scoring two consecutive service aces (I wonder why coach Prinski replaced him with a reliever server for the next serve, what a puzzling move...).
Our own Miyaken only played as a relief server on this day, but he did a great job by serving a service ace.
After he scored the ace, Gerjot lifted him up properly (lol)
Seeing the tall Miyanoura makes me feel energized! (laughs)
But the hotline between Suwalki's S. Sanchez and OP Filipiak was incredible.
Tosses to the opposite base are usually somewhat arching, but the toss from Sanchez to Filipiak was a fast, low toss like a parallel to right fielder in high school volleyball, but it was also quite high, which made me go ``Wow!'' when I saw it, and it was quite difficult to stop.
Because of this, Suwalki is very entertaining to watch, so they are one of the teams I hope to see do well.
However, after the match, we will have to take a bus from Suwalki back to Nysa, which will apparently take about 10 to 11 hours...
For the players and staff, not only the matches but also the travel is difficult!!!
Good job!!!
