In the 9th round of the Polish Men's Volleyball League (Przlyga), Nysza, which is in 4th place and includes Miyaura Kento, played against 3rd place Zawiercie at home on Sunday, November 13th (local time) and lost 0-3 (14-25, 22-25, 16-25).
After the match, NISA's Miyaura Kento gave us a comment.
--How do you feel looking back on today's game?
Miyaura: As a team, we were unable to deal with this technical team that kept shaking us back and forth, and we were unable to hold our own against their good reception, which helped them hold their own. Personally, when I played in the first set, the team atmosphere wasn't very good and I didn't perform very well myself, so if I had performed better when I played later on and shown that we still have a lot to offer as a team, I think we could have changed the atmosphere going forward. That's my own challenge, and I think it's also important in terms of creating an atmosphere as an opposite.
--Especially in the third set, your opponent was close to winning, so it must have been mentally difficult. What was your mindset when you stepped onto the court at that time?
Miyaura: The points difference was so large that I thought we had no choice but to take risks in order to win, so I went into the match with the mindset of taking risks and spiking, in order to create a good atmosphere for the team, whether it was my serve or my spikes.
-Your spikes looked very spirited when your opponent had match point.
Miyaura: I really wanted to go all out and I was like, "Bring it on!", so I went all out, but we ended up losing, so I guess it's meaningless unless the team wins.
-Which of today's opponents from Xabierce made the biggest impression on you?
Miyaura: Kuforek (OH, Poland) was really consistent, made very few mistakes and hit good serves. He blocked the ball in difficult spots and used feints, so although he's not very tall, I thought he was a tough player.
-It's similar to Kubiak (OH, Poland, now with Panasonic).
Miyaura: Yes, it's a bit like Kubiak (laughs).
-Today's loss marks the first time this season that the team has suffered two consecutive losses, but do you have any words for the future?
Miyaura: We have another match against Bielsko on Friday, so first of all I need to change the atmosphere and get ready for the next match.
-Finally, please say a few words to your Japanese fans.
Miyaura: I think there are Japanese fans watching the games, so I want to show them how well I'm doing, and I'll do my best to show that. And also, as a team, I want to show that we can win more games.
