Anastasi comments after the quarter-final fifth match: "I was very nervous"

April 13, 2023

In the Italian men's volleyball league Serie A, Milan, where Ishikawa Yuki plays, played the fifth match of the playoff quarter-finals against Perugia at home on Monday, April 10th local time, and won 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 29-27, 25-23).

After the match, we spoke with Perugia manager Andrea Anastasi.

-How was today's game?

Anastasi: It was very bad. I think the players were very nervous. We started very well, but after that... I also tried to improve the quality of our play, especially the quality of our receptions, to bring the team together. Our play from the receptions was not good. Personally, I think it was because we were nervous. For the last 20 days (since our first loss to Milan), we have not been able to play at our normal level. Our condition was not very good. This has been going on since last month.

-What did you think of the Milan team?

Anastasi: They played very well. They played freely and without any problems. They came to us every time in perfect condition. But we were not as well prepared as they were, because we had to travel a lot and play a lot of games. Such events are not easy, and this time especially it took a toll on us.

-What do you think about Milan's Ishikawa Yuki?

Anastasi: I think he is a very trustworthy player. He played very well.
