In the Italian men's volleyball league Serie A, Milan, where Ishikawa Yuki plays, played the fourth match of the playoff quarter-finals against Perugia at home on Sunday, April 2nd local time, and won 3-2 (25-15, 19-25, 19-25, 28-26, 15-13).
After the match, Milan's Agustin Rosell (MB, Argentina) gave us some comments.
-How was today's game?
Rosell: It was an amazing game. In the first set, our serves were going well and we played an incredible level of volleyball. After that, our opponents' serves got better and we had some tough times, but we were able to achieve great results in the fourth set and the final tiebreak, so I'm very happy.
-What did you think when, after Ishikawa left the court due to injury, you were left without an outside hitter in the forward court?
Rosell: I had to receive the serve (laughs). And Leon was the server. It was a very difficult situation, but it was okay. I'm here for the team, and if the ball had come to me at that time, I would have tried to somehow lift it high in the middle. But in the end, we were able to score a point in that rally. That was amazing, too.
It was your block that decided the match point.
Rosell: Yes, that was me (laughs). I'm very happy that I was able to finish the game like this. I wasn't able to contribute much to the team up until that point today, so finishing the game like this has given me confidence, and I think it will help me in all other areas.
-How will you prepare for next week's final match against Perugia?
Rosell: The next match will definitely be more difficult than today. Well... we will have to at least play our game, like today, the second match and the second set of the third match in Perugia. I hope we win. I think we can do it. That's what we'll be working on in practice this week.
-What kind of person is Ishikawa to you?
Rosell: He's amazing. I have a very good relationship with him. He's very friendly and always smiling, so I like spending a lot of time with him and of course playing with him.
