Zerba: "Kent is 100% a bad guy (laughs)" Comment after the match against Rzeszow

March 20, 2023

In the 28th round of the Polish Men's Volleyball League (Przlyga), Nysa (8th place), of which Miyaura Kento plays, played against Rzeszów (1st place) at home on Friday, March 17th local time, and lost 1-3 (18-25, 25-27, 25-22, 17-25).

After the match, we spoke with Nisa's Nicolas Zerba (MB, Argentina).

--How do you feel looking back on today's game?

Selva: That's a good question (laughs). We had a chance to take the second set and it might have gone to a full set. But our opponent's serve was very good and their defense was also very good. They played very good volleyball.

-After losing the second set in a close match, what do you think was the reason you were able to take the third set despite Ventala's accident?

Selva: It's difficult because it's about mindset, but even if we lost the previous set, we have to forget about it and move on. In the third set, we had some problems and difficulties, but we played well and tried to show our best volleyball.

--Because the number of foreign players who can play at one time is limited, I think there are many instances where players are sent to the bench regardless of their form. What are your thoughts on that?

Zerba: It's a matter of how you organize your team, so I'm happy to go to the bench to put (Moroccan OH) El Graoui on the court, and to have another Polish midfielder play as a result. If that makes the team better and helps the team, then there's no problem.

--You and Miyaura seem to have built a good relationship, but what kind of person is he to you?

Zerba: Well, Kent is 100% a bad guy (laughs). I'm lying, he's a good guy. We are the same age and we're not just playing volleyball here. We both come from foreign countries and it's hard here, so we help each other. He's a very nice guy. Whether he's playing or not, even during training, I'm happy to be with him. He's a nice guy.
