The Coppa Italia final, a cup competition in the Italian men's volleyball league Serie A, was held in Rome on Sunday, February 26th local time, with Piacenza defeating Trento 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-23) to win the championship.
After the match, Piacenza captain Antoine Brisard (France) gave us his comments.
-Congratulations on winning.
Brizard: Thank you. We played very well these two days. I don't know what to say. We were not perfect by any means, but we served well and we defended well. It was a big win.
--You hit four service aces in today's match, just like yesterday. What were you thinking about when you were serving?
Brizard: I was just in the zone. When you're in that state, you have to go and take responsibility. Everyone was serving well, and I felt it was my responsibility. I love these events, so I went and took responsibility.
-This victory is your first title in a foreign league.
Brizard: I've lost in many finals so far (laughs). Once in Poland, three in Russia, so this is my first time winning with a foreign club. I also lost in France, so I'm really happy.

- I think the French national team will play in Japan in this year's VNL. Do you have a message for the Japanese fans?
Brizard: Japan is a special place for us. As you know, we won there (France won gold at the Tokyo Olympics), which was a really big deal, so we have a special attachment to Japan. We always look forward to going to Japan and the fans are great, so we enjoy every game there.
