In the 13th round of the Polish Men's Volleyball League (Przlyga), Nysza, which is in 6th place and includes Miyaura Kento, played against 2nd place Rzeszów at home on Thursday, December 1st local time, and lost 0-3 (22-25, 18-25, 14-25).
After the match, Miyaura gave us some comments.
--How do you feel looking back on today's game?
Miyaura: As a team, we made a lot of serving mistakes in the first set, and because we were playing against a higher-ranked opponent, we wanted to take risks and attack with our serves, but that backfired. On the other hand, the opponent thoroughly targeted Gerjot with their serves, so that was quite tough, and we started to lose ground after our reception started to fall apart, so I think that's why we lost. As for me personally, I was the pinch server in the first set, and I made a mistake amid a series of serving mistakes. It's difficult, but I think I should have been able to serve with high accuracy at about 70% (of my strength). As for my spikes, I made some mistakes in the final combination, so they weren't good, so I think I need to be able to produce good results when I'm on the court.
-What was the team's aim with their serves?
Miyaura: I was trying to hit a good serve to the opponent's OH, taking a risk and hitting a good serve, so I think that's where I made the mistake.
- You've lost three games in a row, to Katowice, Gdansk, and now Rzeszow, and today's match was tough, even though the opponents were superior. How will you make adjustments as a team from here?
Miyaura: I really feel like things aren't going well. I feel like I'm not in the groove, or that I'm not on the ball, so I think I need to change something. It's about my mindset, and although it's difficult, I think I'll just have to try and error. And I also want to lead this team to victory. Today, I came on in a situation where we were losing by a large margin, but I think it's important to produce results in those situations, and I think that will also be good for the team, so I want to do my best there.
--Please say a few words about the next match against Warsaw.
Miyaura: Warsaw is a strong opponent and has many good players. Right now, we are at a critical juncture, and I think we are a little nervous (as a team), so I think it's important to have the courage to attack.
